Twisted Hair was head chief of the Banattees. He was shot, either by Red Wolf or by Joseph Meek. This repaired a rift between the Shoshoni tribes caused by the 1836 murder by arrow of Mountain Lamb by a Banattee brave. Mountain Lamb was Red Wolf's daughter and Joe Meeks wife.
