About me[edit]

I am a paid employee of the University of Maryland Libraries (UMD Libraries), where I work in Special Collections and University Archives. My job revolves around making our archival collections discoverable and accessible to the public. In the past, I have worked for the Historic Maryland Newspapers Project, part of the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP). In both roles, I have edited Wikipedia in order to improve the quality of articles related to subjects found in UMD's archival and digital collections and Maryland newspapers and journalism.

Conflict of interest statement[edit]

When I am editing Wikipedia as part of my official professional duties, I strive to strictly abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability. Because the University of Maryland's educational mission is in line with Wikipedia's mission to disseminate knowledge freely, I will not make edits that I do not believe are in accordance with Wikipedia's practices and procedures. For example, I will not make substantive edits to articles related to the University of Maryland, the National Digital Newspaper Program, Chronicling America, or their personnel. Instead, any edits I make will aim to contribute subject matter expertise. This includes improving articles about UMD library holdings, particularly Maryland newspapers available through Chronicling America.
