User:Editor of Podium 2009

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am the Editor of the 2009 edition of the magazine Podium - the annual newsletter of Presentation Brothers College debating society. I am the successor to Editor of Podium 2008 (talk · contribs), whose editing has officially ceased in accordance with the aims and self-limitations outlined on his userpage. I will be continuing his work on Wikipedia.

My primary aim is in adding source citation, and and my choice of username is so that I can be easily identified as someone who can assist with verifying sources for certain articles. For this account, I am limiting myself to Cork articles. I will also limit this account's editing to 2009, so that the Editor of Podium for the current year can always be quickly identified.

Aims

[edit]

There are certain topics with which I am well familiar and have ready access to the relevant source materials. I will therefore be limiting myself to certain articles specifically relating to Cork city, for which my aims are threefold:

1. To improve the content, balance and structure of the aformentioned articles.

2. In particular, to improve the verifiability of these same articles, by increasing attribution and source citation.

3. Lastly, to improve the image content of these same articles.

My editing will be conducted in a restrained and professional manner, in accordance with Wikipedia policies. I will do my utmost to avoid controversial editing and conflict of interest, and the use of this account will be further limited to 2009. On the election of the 2010 editor, my editing through this account will cease. This will keep things simple, and the role will be succeeded by Editor of Podium 2010.
