• I am leaving the place where my Nation and its Emblem can not be presented respectfully!

• Summary of the Issue - Many barnstars for example (1, 2, 3) have been using distorted National Emblem of India as a base image. Use of Emblem of India (or any part of it) in barnstars on WP is in violation to many Acts and Statutes of India (1, 2, 3, 4). Further, using the half/distorted Emblem attracts even more severe consequences since it is not inline to Law and Statues of India in Force (this order of GOI). These Acts also prohibits the use of this Emblem by Indian who are not in India since they are bound to follow the law of Land (Section 1.2). It is pertinent to mention that these barnstars are part of WikiProjects India and mainly/generally created, maintained and used by and awarded to Indian editors. A detailed discussion on this issue along with citations and links to appropriate laws/statutes had taken place on this page and this page [1]. Most editors feel that it is OK to use distorted Emblem of India in the barnstars in the way it is being used. No Indian editor joined the discussion to comment at all!

• I presented all the logic I could have, gave reference to legal statutes but no logic seems to be working here sometimes...only the votes...! No problem, but I was most hurt with the fact that none of the Indian Editor (Except Titodutta) open the mouth on this issue despite the fact that everyone know that it was right what I was referring to and that Indian Emblem is never used half, distorted and that it is used only and only by Government of India and No one else other than Government of India (with the exception of book/ educational article which are specifically pertaining to Emblem or other Government of India related articles / books)! I dont have much logic any more, I am fed up! I give up and also thinking to give up this place. These barnstars not only are in violation to many acts and statutes of India, but also violate the standby official policies of WP too which state that the images which are in public domain can not be used, reused, mixed, remixed if specific legal restrictions are in place. Since this exactly is the case for Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use Act as Well as Proper Use Rules), every time we create a barnstar with National Emblem of India (or any part of it), or use them, distribute them, display them, we violate the policies of WP too. Display of half Emblem (as is being done in above barnstars) is also considered disgrace and dishonor to the Nation as per Indian Statutes in Force. It is a matter of urgent concern and we all need to take a decision whether we want to continue to violate the Statutes and Laws of our Nation and Continue to dishonor or wish to replace such barnstars with appropriate image.
