Jodie Rummer (born July 1977) is a marine biologist and currently Associate Professor and Principal Research Fellow at the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies at James Cook University.[1] Rummer has been recognized for her research on sharks and coral reef communities, especially the Great Barrier Reef.
Academic training[edit]
Dr. Rummer began her education with an Associate's Degree in Biology from Lincoln Land College and then her Bachelor's degree in marine biology and her Master's Degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida.[2] She then completed her Ph.D. in zoology at the University of British Columbia and a postdoc at the City University of Hong Kong.[2]
Recognition[edit]
Dr. Rummer has received a L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowship and was named one of the Top Five Scientists under 40 by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.[2]
