Thera is the modern day capital of Santorini island.[1] In classical times Thera referred to an entire island,[1]which was the southern most of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. A huge volcanic eruption occurred approximately 3600 years ago leaving a cratera known now as Santorini island.[1]Akrotiri is a Bronze Age settlement that remains on the southern coast of this beautiful volcanic island.[2]
Delphi - location of famous oracle Pythias, who was always consulted when major decisions were pending. [3]
