“On completion of the ritual six seasons have passed by and then in the twelfth month, on the ninth day of Chaitra month [April-May,] when the presiding deity of ruling star of the day is Aditi, where the ruling star of day is Punarvasu (Nakshatra), the asterism is in the ascendant, and when five of the nine planets viz., Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus are at their highest position, when Jupiter with Moon is ascendant in Cancer, and when day is advancing, then Queen Kausalya gave birth to a son with all the divine attributes like lotus-red eyes, lengthy arms, roseate lips, voice like drumbeat, and who took birth to delight the Ikshwaku dynasty, who is adored by all the worlds, and who is the greatly blessed epitome of Vishnu, namely Rama.” - Book I : Bala Kanda, Ramayana by Valmiki, Chapter (Sarga) 18, Verse 8, 9, 10 and 11[1]
”
This day is celebrated as Ramanavami festival throughout India [2].
Valmiki states the Lord Rama was born on Chaitra Shuddha Navami of Shukla Paksha (9th day after New Moon), on Punarvasu Nakshatra and five plants were exalted then, further:
Moon near Punarvasu Nakshatra - Pollux star in Gemini (constellation).
(Bala Kanda.18/Shloka 8,9). Further Ayodhya Kand, Verse 4/18 states that Sun, Mars and Rahu were at Dasharatha's nakshatra. It was the month of Chaitra, which means that the Sun was in Revati, Ashwini or Bharani, also Rahu and Ketu was in any one of these nakshatra, as they are diagonally opposite. [3][4][5].

Using the archaeoastronomy , which combines astronomical with archaeological data, and its software used to predict planetary movements and configurations, the birth date of Rama has been calculated as 12.30 p.m. on January 10, 5114 BCE[7][8][9][10][11]
Though the debate has been rejected in the past, by many as an uprising of Hindu nationalists [12], many in the wake of recent Ram Setu controversy, began questioning the said necessity to look for physical proofs for the validity of revered historical figures like Rama, Jesus or Mohammed[13]. This is similar to proposed Aryan invasion theory by modern historians and refuted by others like David Frawley, who support the Out of India theory[14].
