Family Life[1] Margaret Heavey] Margaret Heavey was part of a family of seven. They lived in house 4 in Old Church Street, Athenry, Galway. The head of the family was Thomas Heavey, Alice Heavey was the wife, Margaret was the daughter along with her sister Susan, the sons was John and Christy and the mother in law was Margaret Kerwan. The head of the family Thomas was from Galway and a saddler by a trade. Alice Heavey was born in DublinDublin. Margaret was the eldest one. And Alice was her mother, part of the famous family business in Dublin, Kirwans Undertakers. Her father handled his trade and harvest making in a building of two stories with thatched roof. Later Pat Kelly from Lisheenkyle build a new home on the site for Ms.Heavey's father in 1938. The whole family were Roman CatholicsRoman Catholic.

Her parents were married for four years when the 1911 census was carried out. Her sister Susan came first in Ireland in Music, and her other sister Flora was a qualified professor, but later died of burst appendix. Her brother John became a priest, while her other brother Christy did not attend higher education, he was still highly intelligent. Unfortunately, her siblings only lived between 19 and 35 years.
