Elżbieta Chodorowska (born in 1967) – a contemporary artist and painter. In her artistic activity she mainly deals with fiber, painting and installation. She lives and works in Częstochowa. Since 1997 she is involved in pedagogical activity. A graduate of Fine Arts’ High-school in Częstochowa, with a diploma in jewellery design. She then graduated from the Higher School of Pedagogy in Częstochowa (presently, the Jan Długosz’ Academy), at the faculty of Artistic Education. She possesses a degree of the Fine Arts’ Academy in Crocow (the faculty of Painting). She then made her Ph.D at the above mentioned faculty, under the supervision of prof. Lilia Kulka’s at her Atelier of Tapestry. In 2013 she acquired a degree of the Doctor of Philosophy of Fine Arts. Since 2004 she has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP). In 2001 she participated in the exhibition of the ZPAP’s 100-anniversary at the European Parliament in Brussels. She has performed with her works at over 100 exhibitions, both locally and worldwide, among others in France, Holland, Ukraine and Austria. Those more significant presented in Poland are: “The Time Record” (“Zapis czasu”) at the City Art Gallery in Częstochowa, “Fall Abstract Ideas” (Abstrakcje jesienne”) at the Desa Salon in Częstochowa, and the “Man – Machine – Movement” („Człowiek – Maszyna – Ruch” ) at the ZPAP OK Pryzmat Gallery in Crocow. Chodorowska’s works can be found at the following artistic collections: The Bureau of Artistic Exhibitions in Ostrów Świętokrzyski, the City Muzeum in Gdynia, and the Central Muzeum of Textile Industry in Łódź. She received several awards, among which the II place in IX International Fall Salon of Art in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski for her work “Black Head I” and “Black Head II” („Czarna głowa I” i „Czarna głowa II”) (Tapestry). She also received the Artistic Honorary Award of President of Częstochowa with a special distinction for her artistic installation. She executed a series of soft sculptures called “Spectators – Faithful Cinema-lovers” for The Center of Cinematograpghic Culture at the City Art Gallery in Częstochowa.
