Sporto Motoring Accessories ...

Sporto Motoring Accessories is an American company selling aftermarket truck and suv accessories based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

History:

1993-1997

Established in 1993. Sporto Motoring Accessories entered the suv accessories market with a mail order catalog directed specifically to the Chevy S-10 Blazer and GMC S-15 Jimmy. The catalog included custom floor mats, luggage carriers, seat covers, and an assortment of interior and exterior accessories. The first catalogs were mailed to the owners of recently purchased Blazers and Jimmys.

In the early years, the annual SEMA Show was the only source of new product acquisitions for Sporto Motoring. It was there that new products were reviewed and relationships formed. Some of the early accessory brand names were: Husky Liners, Putco, Lloyd Mats, Auto VentShade, Covercraft, Swagman Bike Racks, and Saddleman Seat Covers.

1998-2002

In 1998 Sporto Motoring launched a 5 page website to the internet. Although the site was basic, it was considered innovative in the industry and gave Sporto added exposure as an auto accessories company.

In 1999 Sporto Motoring added Ford Expedition to its line of suv accessory mail order catalogs. In that same year it expanded to the truck market with the introduction of its first truck accessories mail order catalog for the Ford F Series Trucks.

In 1999 Sporto Motoring increased its internet presence going from a simple website to a site that included multiple vehicle lines with more accessories offered. The updated website allowed the company to expand its product line and vehicle applications rapidly.

In 2002 Sporto Motoring discontinued printing and distributing mail order catalogs. It replaced the printed catalog with a PDF Catalog that was offered online. The online store became the primary resource for sales.

2003 - 2010

In 2010 Sporto Motoring added Social Media Marketing to its mix to increase social media traffic to its website. It joined Twitter and Facebook, and created its own branded YouTube Channel for video distribution
