Mandy Florez , a Cancer Survivor of Hodgkin's Disease at the age of 22, began to pursue other interests in the Arts rather than working behind a desk. Florez trained as a stylist in San Diego for three years and was behind the chair for six months before being recruited to join forces with Air Hair Systems to create innovative feather art with hair. Mandy Florez specializes in feather design and colour. Her first editorial photo shoot brought her to Christopher Voelker's Studio[1] in Los Angeles and now she is practicing art full time. Florez is the CEO [2] and Art Director of Air Feathers, a division of Air Hair Systems founded by the creative mind of Airie McCready. Florez met McCready in Cosmetology school in 2008 and quickly began a close friendship and inspirational bond. Air Hair is a hair extension company based out of Escondido, California that focuses on the over all well being of the consumer, the bird farms and giving back to causes.[3] McCready and Florez celebrated the Grand opening [4] of the Air Feathers Boutique, September 9, 2011 instead of the originally advertised September 8, 2011 due to the Arizona worker who created the SDG&E Blackout tragedy.
