The Lodge (working title: North Star) is a British musical-teen drama series of the Walt Disney Company, which is based on the Israeli Disney Channel Original Series North Star.[3] The series is produced by the production company Zodiak Kids Studios.[1] The series in September 2016 its premiere on Disney Channel UK and Ireland.[2] The end of 2016 and beginning of 2017, the series will start in 108 additional countries within the EMEA region.[4]
Plot
[edit]The 15-year-old Skye moves with her father from the big city to rural Northern Ireland, where they take over the country hotel, which is family owned. In this new environment, Skye tries to establish a new life. At the same time Skye wants to handle the death of their beloved mother. But Skye's new life is not free from complications. Skye must navigate through the everyday stresses of life of a teenager, and must protect themselves from false friends. Fortunately, Skye finds new friends and falls in love with a boy named Sean. Skye but has no idea that she discovers a secret, which can not only make their world upside down, but also may lead to the closure of the hotel.

Production
[edit]In July 2015, the British Disney Channel gave the green light for the production of the series The Lodge, which had the working title of North Star.[1] For the first season were originally announced 13 episodes with a running time of 22 minutes which was later reduced to 10 episodes.[4][3] The main character Skye was originally named Maia (Hebrew spelling: Maya), like in the Israeli Disney Channel Original Series North Star.[10] Filmed will the series The Lodge in Northern Ireland in the county of County Down. Most of the scenes are filmed in Montalto Lodge, which is close to Ballynahinch.[2]
