Alberto Angulo Gerardo (ca 1970-71 – 4 November 2013), a Mexican, was working as a sports journalist for "Televisa Hermosillo" and local radio stations in Hermosillo (Sonora), Mexico. He was made an official announcer for "Fox Sports" in 2004. He was killed after he and three relatives were returning from a wake in Angostura.[1]

Personal history[edit]

Alberto Angulo Gerardo, born in 1970, studied communication studies at the University of Sonora. He worked in radio for over 20 years before his death at age 42. Alberto Angulo Gerardo is survived by his wife Laura Reyna and their three children, Valeria, 12 years, Luis Alberto, 10 and Diego Armando, 5.[2]

Career[edit]

Named official Fox Sports reporter in 2004.[2] Although Gerardo mainly worked on the radio, in 2001 He joined the television crew to announce the world series between the New York Yankees and the Arizona Diamondbacks. [3] He had his own radio shows, titled "Radioactive man", "The trunk", "DL sports", along with many others.[2]

Death[edit]

Occurred in the vicinity of the community of Agustina Ramirez town of Angostura,Mexico.[4] Reports said gunman surrounded the vehicle and shot the relatives in an attempt to rob them before the vehicle was flipped off the road. Gerardo was killed in the crash and his three female relatives were injured. The gunman fled the scene and have not been apprehended.[1] Officials don't think there is any connection to his death and his work, it was just an armed robbery gone bad.
