From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kadena is a scalable layer-1 Proof of Work (PoW) blockchain platform that features a proprietary braided multi-chain structure named Chainweb, and its own smart contract language named Pact. It was developed by Stuart Popejoy and Will Martino and launched in 2016.

Kadena claims to solve problems inherent in existing blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum, thus enabling it to process transactions faster, use less energy, and be more secure.

While it uses the same underlying technological concepts as classic blockchains like Bitcoin, it has an innovative braided structure, allowing it to combine multiple chains while still supporting a single cryptocurrency coin, KDA.

Because of the high efficiency of the Kadena technology, ASIC miners can mine 18 TH/s using 2250 watts of power, and therefore KDA coin can be one of the most profitable cryptocurrencies to mine.
