EW SOULJAZ

What is the truth? The truth is what real people think, what real people go through, what real people see, how real people live and how real people have to react.

EW very cleverly and greatly enables their listeners to see this truth through their music as it is enhanced and a visual image can be made in their minds because of the deep lyrics and rythamatic beats.

The group was created by Imran (Da'Truth) Khan and Ramez (R2Z2) Galderab. They began this by having an argument over what type of handshake to do, for example Imran preferred the more informal slap of the hands and half hug which were done in the East of America and Ramez preferred the more casual "spud" which was done supposedly in parts of West America.

They decided 2 eventually combine the handshake and called it the East West greeting and as they did it, they announced the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. Soon later Ramez (R2Z2) began making beats in a home based studio and presented them to Imran. Imran was very impressed and decided to team up with R2 and make a few songs.

Later Jayson (Ace) Beckford joined the group alongside Junior (Chinky) Lockhart-Adams. They also made a few tracks but were finding difficulty in giving their group a name.

Da'Truth who was known as 2paki at the time of deciding to call the group EW because there was people from the West part of the world and people from the East part of the world: for example Jayson was from the Caribbean and Ramez was from Egypt.

EW got signed by Birdman's cousin, who is a radio DJ and heard about Birdman's group so therefore consulted him and told him that he was looking to start a record label called Bass Productions the same as his entertainment group. Luke therefore informed Da'truth about this whilst he was in America and when he came back they went to there first studio session in East London and Jazpal was very impressed with what he had heard so he decided to sign the group. Later, Jazpal and Da'truth thought it was best that they leave the East London studio in Illford due to inconvenience and lack of good quality equipment and began to work alongside legendary Sunil Kulyan in West London in Southall.

The members of the group at the early stages of its life were Da'Truth, R2Z2, J-Ace, Birdman, Chinky, and Yasmin. Due to lack of dedication and other complications the group got reduced to Da'Truth, Birdman and Chinky. Once again due to lack of motivation Chinky had to be dropped from the group. Soon after Imran brought on his "Muslim brethren" Mohammed Sajid who is now more commonly known as Moe, or Grizzly Moe. He therefore saw that Da'Truth was struggling to find good and hard working recruits for the "Souljaz" so he introduced Imran to Tonkey and T.J.

Imran was very impressed with their music talents and took them on board and they have shown great perseverance ever since and a tremendous attitude just like everyone else. The group also needed a new female vocalist because Yasmin had left the group due to personal reasons so King.S introduced Da'Truth to Lucie, more commonly known as Jae (Arab Diva). Also Shawn (Mousy) Hinds was asked by Imran to find a Jamaican MC to add a bit of variety to the group, he introduced Da'Truth to Beanie-G a 15 year old extremly talented artist.

Beanie-g was signed at his first studio appearance, he constructed his lyrics for the verse and chorus in his head and Da'Truth was so impressed that he decided to give Beanie-G a solo track which he completed recording within 10 minutes.

The last person to be signed by EW Souljaz is a 18 year old boy from West London called Matthew Winston who is an extremly talented male vocalist. He has been working with king.S for a while now and has the most professional outlook to music seen in a long time. Matthew and King.S enter a studio, fix the mic stand then that's it, a hit has been made.
