History

[edit]

In 2017, three dedicated individuals, each with unique expertise, came together to fill a need that was missing in the West. Dr. Fahd Albinali, a former MIT scientist, Dr.Hussein Babsail, an academic from Tufts, and Sh. Muhammad Yousef, an accomplished graduate of Quran and Islamic Studies from the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Egypt.

The team connected esteemed teachers and scholars of Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies with Muslim families wanting the best Islamic education for their children.

Funding

[edit]

IQRA Network is mostly funded through private contributions and donations.

Content

[edit]

IQRA Network's website aims to provide a personalized interactive experience to learn Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies. The approach is built on interactive learning modules, hosted on Google Cloud. The website is meant to be used as a supplement to 1-on-1 teaching that is hosted on Zoom.

Language availability

[edit]

All material is provided in two languages including Arabic language and English.

Teachers

[edit]

Teachers are fluent in at least 2 languages including Arabic and can set up a classroom within IQRA Network's ecosystem. This classroom allows teachers to assign courses, homework and material within IQRA Network's database to their students.
