The announcement that Zelda would be the protagonist of Echoes of Wisdom was widely praised by critics. Polygon stated that this was "a massive step" that was "long overdue".[1] The Verge responded that it was "fantastic" to see Zelda play the role of the protagonist of the series.[2]
