Manga and anime Otaku.
That's otaku with a capital "O".
Terminal disease. Uncurable. Oh well... [sigh]
Don't do Cosplay though... I hope I never catch THAT disease, can't afford all the DVDs and books as it is...
Fluent in spoken Japanese. Written Japanese is hampered by limited kanji vocabulary (hiragana and katakana isn't a problem). My kanji knowledge isn't quite up to reading newspapers, but I can handle manga okay.
Incidentally, did you know the Japanese versions of the manga books are 30-40% CHEAPER than US (ie: translated) versions? Guess which ones I buy? Besides, the US translations always contain errors - VERY irritating. Oh yeah, and another thing: The Japanese versions can be 10-15 volumes AHEAD of the stateside versions. That can be as much as 2 (or more) years ahead!! That's a long time to have to wait for your plotline!!
Contact me if you need help with Japanese <-> English translations.
