John Francis Bresnahan Jr. is an American politician who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2013 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as a U.S. senator from Colorado from 1999 to 2013 and a U.S. representative from 1993 to 1999.

Born in Evanston, IL, Bresnahan attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, graduating in 1984. He entered the U.S. Navy's Officer Candidate School, serving in the Office of Naval Intelligence, he then enrolled at Harvard Law School, serving in the Naval Judge Advocate Corps.
