Alfreð Þorsteinsson (Born 15 February 1944) is an Icelandic politician. He belongs to the Progressive Party.

He was a sports writer early on.

Chairman of Knattspyrnufélagið Fram.

City council chairman.[1]

Former chairman of Orkuveita Reykjavíkur, stepping down in 2006.[2]

His daughter Lilja Alfreðsdóttir is also a politician, and member of the Alþingi.[3]
