Useful publications on early American horse-racing.

Like it's British counterpart Sporting Magazine- racing/hunting commentary of the day.

Books[edit]

Newspaper databases (free of course)[edit]

  • The Daily Racing Form- Invaluable resource that covers all aspects of American horse racing from 1896 to the 1980s. Note: all issues belonging to Kentuckiana Library/Keeneland Library have not been uploaded to the archives (some years have no uploaded issues).
  • Old Fulton NY Postcards- not really about postcards at all. One of the most comprehensive early American newspaper databases I have found, though searching it can be a pain (no way to narrow search by date).
