My name is Gabriel Tojo. I teach and make research in Organic Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. I live in the countryside with my wife and three daughters.

In 2001, I founded with some friends a custom synthesis chemical company called Galchimia (www.galchimia.com), which now hires 27 employees. I few months ago, I founded —again with some very good friends— another company called Greensolutions (www.greensolutions.es), which prepares ionic liquids.

I am the editor-in-chief of a new series from Springer (www.springer.com), entitled “Basic Reactions in Organic Synthesis.” The first volumes of this series are already on sale. Their titles are “Oxidation of Alcohols to Aldehydes and Ketones” and “Oxidation of Primary Alcohols to Carboxylic Acid.” New volumes will come soon and currently, I am looking for prospective authors for future volumes in this series.

I am planning to make some contributions to Wikipedia in the field of Synthetic Organic Chemistry.

Cheers!
