Academic Career

As Gail Kaleda she received three degrees from Kent State University: a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design (1978), an Master of Arts in Home Economics (1980) and a Masters of Fine Arts in Art (1983). She began teaching in the Home Economics department as an instructor in 1980, was promoted to associate professor in 1983 (when the department was renamed Family and Consumer Studies), received tenure as an assistant professor in 1986, and left the university in 1988. Between 1982 and 1983 she self-published six textbooks on interior decorating and design. As Gail Riplinger she has self-published FIXME books through her publishing company, Authorized Versions Publications, that have helped define the modern King James Only movement movement. She has received an honorary doctorate from Hyles-Anderson College.
