Narelle Szuveges (born 1978 in Melbourne) is an Australian chess Woman International Master who represented Australia at the 1998 Chess Olympiad in Elista.
Life
[edit]Narelle's older brother Grant has been a FIDE Master since 2000. Narelle is a successful competition Contract bridge player.
Chess career
[edit]In 1993, Szuveges jointly won the Australian Junior Girls' Chess Championship. In 1998 she represented Australia at the 33rd Chess Olympiad in Elista on the first reserve board, scoring 3 points from 7 games.[1] She won the Australian Women's Chess Championship in Melbourne in 2002.[2] She was awarded the title of Woman International Master (WIM) based on her result at the Oceania Zonal Tournament in Auckland in February 2005, where she finished equal third.[3] In 2007 she won the Australian "Myer Tan" Women's Grand Prix.
