Dr.K.S.Govindarajan is a South Indian Classical Instrumental Music Concert Player, He has been presenting Stage instrumental music concerts for the past 40 years. Supraveena is a 8 stringed Musical Instrument designed and developed by Dr.K.S.Govindarajan in 1972. He has performed more than 800 Indian Music Classical stage Concerts all over India.
The origin of this music instrument is from “Banjo”, played in Japan for traditional and folk music. Dr.K.S.Govindarajan has made several modifications in that, with modern keyboard and with strings of Veena, Guitar, Santhoor and electronic sound output from Speakers. He gave the name as “ SUPRAVEENA “ and have been presenting stage music concerts at all over India.
He has played this instrument for many Tamil, Kannada Film Music recordings and songs. He presents, Hindustani, Carnatic Classical, Film songs and Devotional Light music songs with his Supraveena.
He was awarded Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) in Educational Multimedia Designing, development and application from University of Canterbury, United Kingdom - in 2011

He has Presented more than 850 Indian Classical, Stage Instrumental Music concerts at varies places in India, with this String Musical Instrument named “SUPRAVEENA” designed and developed by him. Played for South Indian films, for the Film music recordings and songs. Worked with Famous South Indian Cine Music directors - Illaya Raja, Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan, K.V.Mahadevan, A.V.Ramanan and Sankar Ganesh, during 1975 - 1982. Worked with many Tamil Theatre Groups
