Another contributor changed this redirect to point to Uyghur people with the edit summary: "as per my suggestion at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2010 May 3" Their comment there said:

I redirected Uyghur guest house in Jalalabad and East Turkistan Organization safe house (Jalalabad) to point to Uyghur people until things have been discussed. The from User Geo Swan suggested target article is controversial and does not mention Uyghur guest house in Jalalabad.

That other contributor subsequently nominated Uyghur guest houses suspected of ties to islamist militancy for deletion. As Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Uyghur guest houses suspected of ties to islamist militancy has been closed -- as "no consensus" -- I believe this satisfies the "until things have been discussed" part of the other contributor's concern has been addressed.

So I am reverting back to Uyghur guest houses suspected of ties to islamist militancy.

Cheers! Geo Swan (talk) 18:04, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

That the other article has closed with no consensus as Afd is no justification or reason why Uyghur guest house in Jalalabad should redirect to Uyghur guest houses suspected of ties to islamist militancy and i do not think there is a good reason. IQinn (talk) 21:27, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Let's be clear here. Good faith contributors have an obligation to do their best to understand the points or counterpoints of those who disagree with them. Good faith contributors have an obligation to try to compromise, and try to meet those who have concerns with their contributions partway.
I believe I have fully addressed all your stated concerns -- even though I didn't agree with them. You are entitled to have held other objections, which you have not yet made public. You are entitled to offer those concerns now, and try to explain how those concerns comply with policy.
But it seems to me that you can't insist on your choice of redirection targets when all your stated justifications for changing the target have been addressed.
Back on May 11th, you accused me of being disruptive. I will let any readers who review the record decide who has really being disruptive. Geo Swan (talk) 22:49, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
I trimmed a portion of my comments. Geo Swan (talk) 23:06, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
This is also being discussed at Talk:East Turkistan Organization safe house (Jalalabad). Geo Swan (talk) 23:30, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
