Nanette Levinson is a professor at American University, and academic director of the SIS-Sciences-Po Exchange.[1] She is the director of the Internet Governance Lab and has served as Editor of the International Communication Section, The International Studies Compendium Project (Oxford: Wiley-Blackwell, 2010).[2] Her research and teaching focus on knowledge transfer, culture, and innovation; internet and global governance; and social entrepreneurship.[3] She also studies co-processes and change focusing on new media, culture and policy issues in the developing world.[4]

Dr. Levinson is the first woman to chair the National Conference on the Advancement of Research (NCAR). She co-edited book with Francesca Musiani, Derrick Cogburn and Laura DeNardis titled The Turn To Infrastructure In Internet Governance, Palgrave Macmillan, published in 2016.

Dr. Levinson earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Harvard University.
