GiftHit
[edit]GiftHit is a social gifting company that allows people to send their friends real gifts, delivered instantly online by Facebook wallpost, email, or text and can be redeemed in real life. These eGifts provide access to a very diverse selection of gifts for many occasions, and GiftHit has partnered with bars, resaurants, cafes, spas, gyms, salons and more[1]. Some of the company’s most popular merchants include Joe Coffee, Barry’s Bootcamp and Butter Lane Cupcakes[2].
History
[edit]GiftHit is the brainchild of Arielle Goldman and Jonathan (Natan) Packin, two native New Yorkers who started the site when they were dating in 2011 and ended up getting married in the process[3].
Mission
[edit]GiftHit differentiates itself from its competitors with its emphasis on experiences. While other social gifting sites ship merchandise to recipient’s homes, GiftHit focuses on gifts that get people out of the house and try new things. This fact, coupled with GiftHit’s carefully selected pool of partners, are reasons that this social gifting site fills a void left by Facebook’s newly launched gift feature. Whether it’s through partnerships with a new local bar, coffee shop, yoga studio, gym or comedy club, GiftHit specializes in making memories, not clutter.
