OMUTSEGONIME[edit]

Omutsegonime is a name derived from oshiwambo language which means "the head of the lion"

LOCATION[edit]

this village is located in Oshikoto region some 30 KM to omuthiya and 20 KM to Oshivelo so it lies between Omuthiya and Oshivelo. It is found in the Northern part of Namibia.

HISTORY[edit]

This village was very under developed many or 10 years ago compared to this year , this village did not have electricity, people drank water from the well, peole had to travel to Omuthiya for basic needs since there were only few stores which most of them sold "Tombo". Omutsegonime combined school in this village was constructured years ago and it was in a very bad condition compared to now, where by most of this school's classes were shacks. This school celebrated it's 31 anniversary last year 2011.

LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT[edit]

omutsegonime is more developed compared to other villages in its surroundings ,This village is developed in terms of the following services offered , for example: electricity[1],shops,schools,churches,water,saloon ,one main road etc. These services are the ones setting this village on a better level of development. It is not deep in the bush but it is actually situated closer to the main road the one that links Omuthiya snd Oshivelo. People in this village normally travel to the nearest town {Omuthiya} for some of the services that i did not mention above such as banks , hospitals.

Omutsegonime should be provided with hospitals because it is a great sympathy seeing people in pain {sick} travelling 30KM to Omuthiya for treatment.
