Bibliography
[edit]Edit this section to compile the bibliography for your Wikipedia assignment. Add the name and/or notes about what each source covers, then use the "Cite" button to generate the citation for that source.
- Agarwal I, Ceríaco LMP, Metallinou M, Jackman TR, Bauer AM. 2021. How the African house gecko ( Hemidactylus mabouia ) conquered the world. Royal Society Open Science. 8(8):210749. doi:https://doi.org/10.1098/rsos.210749.
- This is peer reviewed journal that fills in geographic range as well as the habitat of the Aaron Bauer’s Gecko. There is not enough description on those two topics in the Wikipedia stub. This source will help us properly describe the range in depth.
- Van Tri N, Thai P, Phimvohan A, David P, Teynié A. 2014. Gekko aaronbaueri, a new gecko (Squamata: Gekkonidae) from central Laos. [accessed 2024 Mar 31]. https://www.mapress.com/zootaxa/2015/f/z03914p156f.pdf.
- This is a reliable, credible article from the peer reviewed taxonomy mega journal to inform others on a bit of history explaining where the gecko came from and origin. It also talks about the species as a whole and provides a lot of useful information.
- Zimin A, Zimin SV, Shine R, Luciano Javier Avila, Bauer AM, Böhm M, Brown RM, Goni Barki, Henrique G, Castro-Herrera F, et al. 2022. A global analysis of viviparity in squamates highlights its prevalence in cold climates. Global Ecology and Biogeography. 31(12):2437–2452. doi:https://doi.org/10.1111/geb.13598
- This scientific journal source talks more about the climate of the gecko and the different temperature ranges. It has various information regarding the evolution of the gecko to tolerate colder environments.
- Folie A. 2022. Hemidactylus turcicus, a Mediterranean species and one of Europe’s few extant geckos. In the “greenhouse world” geckos and other tropical lizards occupied northern Europe. [accessed 2024 Mar 31]. https://www1.villanova.edu/villanova/media/pressreleases/2022/new-gecko-described-by-research-team.html.
- This is an article published in a peer edited and official University website regarding scientific findings. It will provide an online source for an image which is missing from the article in the first place to represent the gecko.
- Torki F. 2020. A new gecko genus from Zagros Mountains, Iran. Amphibian & Reptile Conservation. 14(1):55–62. doi:https://doi.org/e223. [accessed 2024 Mar 31]. https://amphibian-reptile-conservation.org/pdfs/Volume/Vol_14_no_1/ARC_14_1_[General_Section]_55-62_e223.pdf.
- This is an official article from the accredited Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, so it should be reliable. It covers the gecko species in depth but will provide great detail on the description and looks of the species.
- Bauer AM. 2013. Geckos : the animal answer guide. Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press. [accessed 2024 Mar 31]. https://books.google.com/books?hl=en&lr=&id=QtU_ggXihcEC&oi=fnd&pg=PP1&dq=aaron+bauer+gecko&ots=xCiJQeRvpJ&sig=jSDqRkCoqG-mw9KUx80dYD7hyXE#v=onepage&q=aaron%20bauer%20gecko&f=false.
- This is the book published by Johns Hopkins and written by Aaron Bauer himself, so it should be credible on the information regarding geckos. This will be used for lots of additional info and background on Bauer.

[edit]Outline of proposed changes
[edit]The overall quality of the article has potential and does set us up specifically with the help of the subheadings already provided. However, we plan on adding much more information that will provide specific details and a better overview of the Arron Bauer Gecko. The changes that will be made are described above in our bibliography, but we also plan to cite sources for info that is lacking in the article, delete unneeded information, and adding a few more subheadings.
Now that you have compiled a bibliography, it's time to plan out how you'll improve your assigned article.
In this section, write up a concise outline of how the sources you've identified will add relevant information to your chosen article. Be sure to discuss what content gap your additions tackle and how these additions will improve the article's quality. Consider other changes you'll make to the article, including possible deletions of irrelevant, outdated, or incorrect information, restructuring of the article to improve its readability or any other change you plan on making. This is your chance to really think about how your proposed additions will improve your chosen article and to vet your sources even further. Note: This is not a draft. This is an outline/plan where you can think about how the sources you've identified will fill in a content gap. |
