Guadalupe Vidal is a fashion designer and television personality on Season 2 of Project Runway.

Biography[edit]

Guadalupe Vidal was born and raised in Southern California. Her family consisted of her parents, 2 older sisters and 1 older brother.

Education and early career[edit]

Growing up Vidal was always exposed to fashion by her mother. She used to help her family with production sewing in their home garage until she graduated from high school. Vidal attended the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC)[1] and studied psychobiology while at UCSC[2] and wanted to study about lucid dreaming[3]. After taking a short hiatus to live in Chicago she returned to California and lived in Berkeley, California. She attended community college at the Peralta Colleges and took graphic design, millinery and fashion design courses. In 2001, she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, San Francisco with a degree in Merchandise Marketing and Product Development. While in school she worked as Secretary at Alta Bates Medical Center, Post Acute Rehabilitation Department and also apprenticed to an upholster in Fremont California. After graduating , she started her own company Guadalupe Vidal Designs and specialized in customized clothing and home furnishing/decor.

In early 2000, Vidal moved back to Southern California and worked on various television and film projects in wardrobe. She continued to assist on various productions and worked in the wardrobe department on a television show called Brothers Garcia which eventually got cancelled and as a Costume Designer several independent project such as Void.

Project Runway[edit]

During the taping of Project Runway, Vidal had no idea what she was about to endeavor since it was a fairly new show. On Project Runway, she slid by on 4 challenges and was unfotunately eliminated on the 5th challenge "Social Scene".

After Project Runway[edit]

After Project Runway, Vidal enjoyed the production life and continued producing events with various experiential marketing companies. After working several years in event production she started a family and now has 2 children and lives in Los Angeles. She has been compelled to design again after a very long hiatus and is revamping her love for fashion and event production with a concept fashion company to debut in late 2017/early 2018.
