Nijeena is a contemporary Indian painter and printmaker based in Kerala. She has done her early schooling from Sree Narayana High School,North Paravoor, Ernakulam and graduation from Trivandrum College Of Fine Arts, Kerala and MFA with first-class from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
Nijeena was a recipient of the award of the IFACS Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi (2000), scholarship of HRD Ministry of India (1994-96),fellowship of HRD Ministry of India (1997-99), fellowship of Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi .She starts her carrier with strong figurative drawings, print making and photography, since 2005 She was living and working in Baroda and Mumbai for 11 years, Then she moved to Kerala and started her teaching as a guest faculty in printmaking department of Kerala University for some time. Permanent collection of her works are in Kangra art museum in Himachal.
Nijeena is the Director of studio SALT, Kerala’s first public print making studio. Pradesh and Lalit kala akademi of kerala.
