H.J. Verhagen is a retired (Dutch) hydraulic engineer, with special interest for coastal protection and safety against inundation. He has worked in consulting engineering, for the Dutch government and worked as associate professor in Coastal Engineering. He is also interested in the history of hydraulic engineering.
