St Ignatius Church, Ordsall is a redundant Anglican church located on the corner of St Ignatius' Walk and King Edward Street in the Ordsall area of Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The church is listed in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. [1]

History[edit]

The church was designed by Alfred Darbyshire and was completed in 1900, with a rectory being completed in 1904. Its construction was funded by Wilbraham Egerton, 1st Earl Egerton and it formed a part of the New Barracks Estate.

Until it was declared redundant in 2004, the congregation continued to use the nave for worship, which was divided internally from the chancel in the 1990s. It was listed by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building on 24 October 2012

Architecture[edit]

The church was built to a Romanesque Revival design, which is consistent throughout.

The baptismal font was built to in Caen stone and polished granite.
