A total of 14 events were contested.

Qualification

A total of 76 athletes competed from 10 nations. Unlike in subsequent Games, there appeared to be no country limit of three competitors per event, as five Americans were listed as placing in the javelin throw and more than three were listed in other events.[1]

Competition schedule

The 1937 Pan American Games took place on a weekend from Friday to Sunday. The 60 metres and 200 metres heats took place on Friday, and all track event finals were contested on Saturday, leaving only the marathon to be run on Sunday.
