Hader Otaki is a writer and the author of a poetry collection titled GIVE ME A WORD. He is from Keana, an area of Nasarawa state but was born and raised in Lagos. He is a partner at Nasara Creative and a consultant to the World Intellectual Property Organization. He is also one of the organizers of the Lafia Literary Series, a platform that promotes literary events in Nasarawa state. His poetry and prose explore erotic, love, politics, racism, and the relationship between man and his faith. His works have been published by Konya ShamsRumi, Amada Khalago magazine, and other platforms. He was a guest writer for the month of July at the Yasmin El-Rufai Foundation for its Literary Evening in Kaduna. He was a featured performance poet at the Art Showcase, an art event organized by Cavic Nigeria and supported by the British Council, Abuja. In 2022, the Voice of Nigeria (VON) Literary Corners interviewed Hader Otaki on the premises of his writing and life as a published author. He was an invited guest poet at the Nile University Abuja Book and Literary Club in 2022. He was also an invited spoken word poet at the 2022 MISS BAZE Beauty Pageant at Baze University Abuja. He was one of the headliners for the ABUFEST in Abuja in 2022. Hader Otaki was hosted on the NTA channel, Abuja for the program UR WEEKEND as an invited guest writer and a poet. He was a guest author/writer for the DAY BREAK EXTRA on Trust TV in 2022. He was hosted by the THOUGHT PYRAMID ART GALLERY, Abuja as a guest poet for its first open mic. He was an invited poet at the ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN AUTHORS end-of-year party in 2022. He was among the roll call of poets that performed at the ‘IN CONVERSATION SERIES’ that hosted Professor Niyi Osundare in Abuja in 2022, organized by Sevhage Publishers. He’s a lover of art, page & stage poetry and has performed across many platforms and was recently among the Nigerian writers invited to the 2023 SLAMeroun International Festival in Cameroun. In 2021, Hader Otaki was among the few poets commissioned by BBC MEDIA ACTION to write and record a piece for political advocacy and promotion of the Nigerian brand, using spoken word poetry as a tool. He was among the six chosen creative writers recruited in 2020 by NCBN (NIGERIAN CUSTOM BROADCASTING NETWORK) for a spoken word poetry project for its cable network. He was a guest poet on the second edition of Worth-word Nigeria in 2020, an Islamic Poetry Event. His first book was published by AMAB BOOKS PUBLISHERS in September of 2021; a poetry collection and has sold over five hundred copies. He is currently busy working on his second book. Hader is also a town planner and a project manager for Beehive Associates and Brill Developers Limited, both Abuja construction companies. He writes from Abuja and enjoys skating, mountain climbing, and outdoor activities whenever he is not writing. He is a social media buff and has an imaginary girlfriend called, Otusha Ozegya.
