The 2025 Women's Asian Volleyball Championship will be the 24th edition of the Women's VBIC Asia Championship, organized by Asian's governing volleyball body, the VBIC. For the first time, the Women's AsiaVChamp will be held in Australia. The Semifinalist will be qualified for World Championship next year.

Qualification

[edit]

This edition changes from pools competition in zonal qualification in top two spot and two play offs by top two teams.

Pools composition

[edit]

The drawing of lots was combined with a seeding of National Federations and performed as follows:

  1. The host were seeded in Preliminary pools. Australia in Pool A.
  2. The finalists from the previous edition were drawn in different Preliminary pools, meaning that the Philippines, Thailand, China, South Korea, and Japan were placed in Pool B, Pool C, Pool D, Pool E, and Pool F respectively.

Teams were drawn into Groups A to F. For the first time in AVC AsiaVChamp history, the pools added into 6 pools by four teams. AVC reserved the right to seed the hosts as head of pool A regardless of the previous ranking. All teams not seeded were drawn to take other available positions in the remaining lines. Each pool had no more than three teams from the same zonal association.

The groups were confirmed following the draw:

Pool Phase

In the first round, the 24 teams will be spread across 6 pools of four teams playing in a round-robin system. The top two teams in each pool and the top eight of the third placed teams qualified for the final round. All results of this round combined in a single ranking table to determine a final round pairing and also 16th to 4th rank in final standing featuring six pools of four teams playing in six cities.

Direct elimination phase

In the direct elimination phase, the 16 teams will be matched-up into knock-out stage: the winners will advance to the next stage, and the losers will be eliminated from the competition.

Final round

The qualified teams from preliminary round competed in the knock-out stage.

In round of sixteen, the qualified teams matched-up according to the Berger table based on their ranking in the combined ranking table. However, VBIC reserved the first, second, third, and fourth position for the host teams if they qualify. The better ranked host team secured the first position, and the worse ranked host team secured the last position. The winners in this round qualified for round of sixteen. The results of this round have combined to preliminary round's combined ranking to determine 9th to 16th rank in final standing. The winners in round of sixteen will be qualified for quaterfinals. This procedure also applied in quarterfinals to determine 5th to 8th rank in final standing. In semifinals, the winners advanced to compete for the World Championship title. The losers faced each other in the third place match.

Pool standing procedure

[edit]
  1. Number of matches won
  2. Match points
  3. Sets ratio
  4. Points ratio
  5. If the tie continues as per the point ratio between two teams, the priority will be given to the team which won the match between them. When the tie in points ratio is between three or more teams, a new classification of these teams in the terms of points 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be made taking into consideration only the matches in which they were opposed to each other.

Match won 3–0 or 3–1: 3 match points for the winner, 0 match points for the loser
Match won 3–2: 2 match points for the winner, 1 match point for the loser

Preliminary round

[edit]
  • All times are local.
  • The top four teams in each pool will qualify for the final round.
