"Dark Winter" is an American rock band from Denver, who formed in 2007 to start their self proclaimed "Fixing Music" movement. The band plays a variety of genres, including rock and metal.

History

[edit]

2007

[edit]

Jordan Teuber (drums) and Brian Fagan (guitar), both students at Grandview High School in Aurora, formed a band called "The Lost Flames" in 2007. The band was desperately searching for a bassist, and when Fagan found David Thorn, he was admitted into the band as a bassist with no audition.

Soon afterward they decided that the name "Lost Flames" did not suit their style of music, so they changed their name to "Dark Winter", an idea proposed by the current guitarist, Brian Fagan.

2008

[edit]

Chris Harris, a friend of Thorn's, was admitted into the band as the lead guitarist. Harris decided that vocals suited him better, and gave that a try, leaving Fagan to guitar. The band begun writing songs and recording, releasing their first song, "Epic Porno," on Youtube. The audio quality was poor and the vocals were highly criticized by the band.

2009-Present

[edit]

Harris was kicked from the band after the vocal performance in "Epic Porno." The band had had an argument at a practice following the recording, and founding members Teuber and Fagan decided that in order to keep their desired genre, Harris had to go.

Later that month, Harris was readmitted to the band as a guitarist again.
