Shitemo Irrigation Project is a commercial type of farming situated at a distance of about 98 km’s eastern side of Rundu in the Okavango region. It is situated very close to the kavango River as a source of water for the irrigation system, this project mainly concentrates on growing maize and mahangu. It uses the central pivot method of irrigation to water the plantations. It covers an area of about 9 000 hectares. It uses combine harvesters and tractors to carry out the plantation, Nevertheless the project, does not only concentrate on growing products for sell for the seek of profit making, but it is also rated as the great job provider of mostly unskilled labor that benefits the shitemo society.--Hamberera (talk) 09:34, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
