Founded in January, 1899. The Monitor is one of the first newspapers within the state.[1] Since its inception, the newspaper has been continuous circulation[2]. It is available by subscription and published on Tuesdays.[3] ...and has had ten publishers throughout its duration. The current editor of the Monroe Monitor and Valley News is Jessica Keller.[3] The newspaper covers sports, local news, & business and community related matters.[3] The slogan of The Monroe Monitor & Valley News is "the voice of the Sky Valley."[2] Following the creation of the Monitor, other weekly newspapers emerged only to quietly disappear or merge with The Monroe Monitor & Valley News.
