The concept of classical elements found in ancient Meitei scriptures of the traditional Meitei religion (Sanamahism), having the composite concept of the Mei (Meitei for 'Fire'), Eshing (Meitei for 'Water'), Nungsit (Meitei for 'Air'), Leipak (Meitei for 'Earth'), Atingaa (Meitei for 'Sky/Space') with Mi (Meitei for 'the Universal life, the Spirit, the God Father')
