The roots of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust can be traced to the founding of a primary school in 1940, by M C Shivananda Sharma, a great visionary, who foresaw the need for education. it was then called Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi. It was registered as a Society in 1940, under the Mysore Societies Regulation Act No III, 1904 and V of 1939 of the erstwhile Mysore State. In 1964 Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust was formed.

sri M C shivananda sarma was the visonary who laid the foundation of the Rashtreeya vidyalaya instutions.

Born into a peasant family in T. Narasipura ,karnataka in 1911, he was an internet social worker from his chidhood.Inspried by the likes of Shri Madana Mohan Malaviya, Shri Rabindranath Tagore and Shri Mahatma Gandhi, he founded the Rashtreeya vidalaya Instution with just six students ,on vijayadashami in 1940.

His motto of social service through education led to the formation of Rashtreeya Sikashana Samitha Trust, under whose banner today,there are twenty reputed instutions from nursery to post-gradution levels.Shivananda Sarma worked with unwavering commitment, zeal and dedication,as its founder secretary ,till his demise in 1969.

All the R.V Institutions owe their fame and repute to his tireless efforts which has placed in a prominent place both at the national and international levels.

The Rashtreeya Sikshana samitha Trust has been managing educational inustions at various levels,ranging from nursery,primary and higher secondary schools to degree college and instutions of engineering ,medical and management education .The trust was founded in 1940, with a small number of students at the nursery level.With the dedicated efforts of the associated educationists,it developed into a dyanamic organization , managing diverse instutions of national and global repute. The credit for this incredible growth and fame undoubtedly goes to the Trustees ,Whose vision,toiland efforts has enablemany students of R.V Instutions to carve a niche for themselves in the vast competitive world.The Rashtreeya Sikshana Samitha Trust in known for its dedication in education with a vision to realise educational ideas.

The trust is with various Universities of USA,Australia and Germany for student exchange programs.

SSMRV college was established in 1982 by Rashtreeya sikshana Samitha Trust,offering Pre-university and Bacherlor's Degree in commerce and science faculities.The college was bifurcated in 2002 into SSMRV Degree college and SSMRV PU college as per karnataka Goverment order.
