The Open Relay Database (commonly ORDB or ORDB.org) was a DNS-based Blackhole List, that operated between June 2001[1]and December 2006[2].
Termination of service[edit]
In a press release in December 2006, the closure of the service was announced, as "the general consensus within the team [behind the service] is that open relay RBLs are no longer the most effective way of preventing spam from entering your network as spammers have changed tactics in recent years"[3].
