Mt. Houraijisan scenery

Houraijisannobuppousou」is a song from a music program 『Minna no Uta』on [NHK] in June, 2007.

Outline[edit]

Lyrics・Music・arrangement:Isao Tomita, singer:NHK Tokyo children chorus[CG ]AnimationFumio Ooi.

This song depicts the memories of world-renowned player Isao Tomita, who once heard the voice of a phantom bird as a boy at Mt. Houraijisan, Aichi Prefecture, near his father's parents' house.

In modern times, it has become known that the identity of the voiced Oriental dollarbird is not a bird called Oriental dollarbird, but a member of the owl family, Eurasian scops owl, but the voice is no longer heard at Mt. Houraijisan, which triggered the fact to be clarified. Fumio Ooi expresses the magnificent scenery of Okumikawa in CG.

Content[edit]

The content of the song is that a boy and a girl who seem to be brother and sister talk to Eurasian scops owl who has fled to a distant mountain to come back, and Eurasian scops owl responds, and the exchange between "boy and girl" and "Eurasian scops owl" is expressed in a two-part chorus. It seems that Eurasian scops owl ran away because he was not amused by the fact that the identity of the call was mistaken for Oriental dollarbird. Oriental dollarbird also urges Eurasian scops owl to return, and the last one shows Eurasian scops owl spreading his wings at night and taking flight. The wish that Eurasian scops owl will return to Mt. Horaijisan is not only the boys and girls who appear in the work, but also the wish of the creator, Isao Tomita.
