Somewhere in Between is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Vérité. It was released on June 23, 2017 through her independent record label. The album features collaborations with Zach Nicita, James Flannigan among others. Every song is written by Vérité alongside other artists she worked with. Musically, the album has been described as "emotive, inward-looking slices of infectious, creative pop".[1]

The artist expressed releasing music independently as she "didn’t always have this intense interest in control [for my project]. It developed over time. Now, I can’t imagine a situation where I would be interested or persuaded to give someone else ownership or control over my project, my voice and my music".[2]
Singles[edit]
The lead single "Phase Me Out" was released on 13 January 2017.[3]Vérité emphasized that this track is about the moments "when you’ve been in the same position too many times and can predict every move".[4]
The artist announced "When You're Gone" as the second single from Somewhere in Between[5] It was released on 31 March 2017. Describing this single, she stated "I get lost in depression. It’s always a choice of sorts. Even when it seems clinical, there are always small actions you can take to move forward in a positive way. I’ve gone through many phases where I’ve fallen into pure escape. In this case – your mouth will be a better temporary fix".[6]
