Robert Hyland is a lecturer in Film at the Bader International Study Centre at Herstmonceux Castle. He completed a PhD in film studies at the University of Kent in 2009, and has taught in Taiwan, Japan, Canada and the UK. He specializes in Asian cinema with a focus on Japanese cinema, but also has an interest in British silent cinema.
