Eve Selis (born July 8, 1963, Deming, New Mexico, United States) is an American Americana and Country musician.

Early life[edit]

Eve Selis was born on July 8, 1963, in Deming, New Mexico to Sarah Selis and Robert Selis DDS (d. 2010) a family of ten, and was raised in San Diego, California.

Early career[edit]

Selis met Marc Intravaia aka "Marc Twang" in early 1991 in San Diego, CA. when both were hired to tour the Mediterranean with a band hired by the DOD (Department of Defense. Sharing a common love of Americana music, they started writing songs while on tour and continued when they returned home. After recording a few demos they formed their first band the next year. Under the name Kings Road they were signed in 1993 by Broken Records, a division of Maranatha Records. They recorded two albums under the name Kings Road before dropping the band name.

"I've been labeled 'outside the box,' and I always wonder, if everyone else is already in the box, wouldn't you want someone outside the box for a change?"^[1]

Influences[edit]

Eve Selis's voice — described as "lemonade and whiskey" ^[2] — is a combination of Bonnie Raitt, Joan Osborne, Maria McKee, Melissa Etheridge, and Lydia Pense. Influences include Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Emmy Lou Harris, Gram Parsons, CSN&Y.

Personal life[edit]

Married to Dan De La Isla from 1993-1999, daughter Sarah de La Isla born 1994.

Charity Work[edit]

In February 2011, Eve peformed at the famed Abbey Road Studio to benefit Cancer Research UK at the invitation of BBC Radio Legene Bob Harris.
