Article Evaluation[edit]

Triumph of the Name of Jesus

Evaluating Content[edit]

When reading this article, I was confused and distracted from the art work when it talked about Jesuit History. The relevance was not connected until much later in the article, and even then the connection was very weak.

The information seems to be up to date, but is lacking information about the artist himself. More emphasis is put on Bernini as an influence than on Giovanni Battista Gaulli who actually painted it.

The author could have done a better job at connecting Jesuit History and Gaulli himself to the artwork described.

Evaluating Tone[edit]

The tone seems to maintain neutral, with the exception of the emphasis on Bernini as a significant figure. However, this may well be the case as I am not astute on the painting's history. Not much in terms of viewpoints are discussed in this article, so there may well be a lot of unrepresented viewpoints that exist surrounding this artwork.

Evaluating Sources[edit]

None of the sources listed are linked, and therefore would take a lot of work to verify if they support the claims that the author is making. There are definitely a lot of 'facts' that are not even listed as even having a source, which is cause for suspicion. The sources and citations listed seem to be credible scholarly sources, most likely books or academic journals. There are nine sources that are cited, which means that there is a least a degree of varying opinions and viewpoints.

Talk Page[edit]

There is no active talk page, and the source is apparently too obscure to be associated with any WikiProjects.
