Webzai is a freemium online HTML5 website builder. It features a simple “Drag & Drop” editor with which users can create their own PC & Mobile website, with no need for prior knowledge of HTML or graphic design knowledge.
It competes with other website builders such as Wix,Yola,Webs,Weebly.
History
[edit]Webzai was founded in 2012 by Amir Gabay and Nir Domshlak. They inspired to create a platform mainly for website designers. This platform would give every user the tools of a web developer without the need for coding knowledge.
Features
[edit]Webzai offers all main website building and hosting services including website design and hosting. There are free and paid versions of the services. The free version consists of a 250MB of storage space and 0.5GB monthly bandwidth and a “connect domain” service. The three paid premium packages offer additional storage and bandwidth as well as the removal of branding from the website. Some of the most significant features are:
- Template based design - Every item in a collection of items (like galleries, menus and other lists) has its own template. Items in a collection can share templates making design faster and more intuitive
- Custom States - A custom state is your way to design the appearance of elements in reaction to the user’s actions (page load, mouse rollover, pressed or selected etc.)
- Actions and behaviors – allows for the Connection of elements on the page such as play button to a video or a navigation button to a gallery. Actions and behaviors include size change, scrolling the screen from element to another, rotation and flying onto the screen, fade in and out etc.
- Professional Graphic design features –grouping, copying and pasting style between elements, gradient coloring, multiple selection and styling, 960 grid, Snapping Custom rulers, fixed layouts, Media library management.
