From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My name is Ilstuguy.

I'm a senior English Education major at Illinois State University, working on my senior thesis about authorship on Wikipedia. I've been using Wikipedia since I came to college in 2004, and have recently created my own account to get a real first hand experience about the writing and editing process.

If you have any interest in authorship, or just want to say "Hey," drop me a line at esabder@ilstu.edu.

Areas of interest for the senior thesis include:
-centralized versus decentralized organizations and how they relate to editing
-the power of pedestrian knowledge and the rise of fandom on Wikipedia and whether Wikipedia is the proper forum for such devotion of knowledge
-examining why people vandalize articles
-examining how people work together to edit articles
-looking at the functions of editors on Wikipedia; specifically what do people edit for when they edit articles? Beauty/aesthetics, mechanics, objectivity?

Other areas of interest include: Writing, reading, Fugazi, and vegetarian cooking
